Mystery vegetable

 

the produce is so pretty

at the fancy food store

it makes me feel healthy and brave

 

and I buy a mystery vegetable

most times they go half bad

before I can figure out how to eat them

 

I giggle now when I think

how surprised I was to find that

fresh ginger wasn’t pink
